Delhi Flood: After the flood water receded in Delhi, now the danger of snakes has increased. Delhi’s Forest and Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that in view of the complaints related to snakes coming out of the houses along the Yamuna river after the flood waters receded, as well as snakes being found near the flood relief camps, the Forest Department has been given a rapid response. Instructions have been given to form a team which will work in all the flood affected districts. Along with this, the Forest Department has also issued a helpline number 1800118600 for this.
Forest and Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that along with humans, all living beings are also at risk due to the flood situation. Due to continuous stay in water, snakes are also in trouble and are looking for a safe place for themselves. In such a situation, they are entering the houses. Also, there have been complaints related to snakes being found near the relief camp on the banks of the Yamuna. The Forest Department has been instructed to take appropriate action regarding this. Along with this, instructions have also been given to form a rapid response team.
Forest Minister made this appeal to the people
Forest and Environment Minister Gopal Rai has appealed to the people that there is no need to panic, but do not harm yourself or the snake. Get the snake rescued by calling the helpline number issued instead. He said that on calling the helpline, the Wildlife Department team would immediately reach the spot and catch the snake and leave it at a safe place.
‘Experts will be sent to the concerned places’
The Forest Minister said that the common people have to face a lot of problems due to the snakes entering the houses. To get rid of the problems of snakes, the Forest Department has started a free helpline service. On the complaint made through the helpline, experts will be sent to the concerned places to catch the snake. For this reason, instructions have been given to the Forest Department to form a Rapid Response Team. This team will work in all the flood affected districts of Delhi. The forest department has been instructed to keep a special vigil around all the relief camps.
